Existing solutions are dated and expensive. It’s time for software innovation to catch up and empower the research community. We teamed up just to do that.
Prathik is a UX architect and entrepreneur. In 2010, he founded one of the very first usability and UX design companies in India. Later he led them to become an application development company and made a successful exit. He is also an investor in several startups. Prathik has an MS in HCI and a B.Tech. in Biotechnology.
Nacho is an open source author and software engineer with more than sixteen years of experience, architecting and implementing high performance scalable systems. Before BatchX, Nacho was an early employee of the Bay Area security startup Shiftleft and a founding member of DREAMgenics where he dedicated more than six years to building bioinformatics platforms. He is a physicist by training and a builder by nature.
David is a biologist with a master's degree in bioinformatics. He is a next generation sequencing (NGS) specialist, with more than eight years dedicated to the analysis and development of algorithms for NGS genomic data. A passionate software developer and cloud computing expert.
Arvind is a UX engineer who also has expertise in graphic design, animation design, and UI development. Over his 8 years career, he has helped several teams conceptualize their thoughts into prototypes and then end products. He has a strong desire to utilize design to improve people's lives and is continually fascinated by the most latest design trends. Besides design, he likes to enjoy hoppy craft beer and have conversations with friends.
Kevin is a biotechnologist with a master's degree in bioinformatics. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence applied to biotechnology. During his five-year professional career, he has welcomed playing roles such as software engineer, data scientist, and computational biologist, both in academia and industry settings.
Jairo is a full-stack software engineer with more than 15 years of experience in web development, mobile applications, and cloud tools. Besides crafting the BatchX frontend he loves spending time with his family and dog, practicing outdoor sports, and watching movies
Sharvari is a Bioinformatics Software Engineer with a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from the US, and another in Microbiology from India. Before BatchX, she worked as a Bioinformatics Specialist at UCSD. She is passionate about bioinformatics and avidly interested in the human microbiome. In her spare time, she likes to write.
Siddharth is a Ph.D. student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison working on novel bioinformatic methods for studying bacterial natural products in metagenomic communities. He also works on software development and is one of the developers of the automated metagenomic binning pipeline - Autometa. He likes to spend his free time rock climbing or learning about blockchain technologies. He was an intern at BatchX and can’t wait to join full-time after he has graduated.
Elia is a scientist: driven by a desire to understand something deeply. Specifically for him, that something would be information processing. Whether this processing happens by the Universe (during his training in Physics), by the human brain (during his training in AI), or by a computer program (during his Ph.D. research in Machine Learning), the fundamental question never changed. BatchX, which is all about (scientific) information processing, provides the perfect playground to tackle this question once again.
